Dear Fairbanks Families,
Happy July! Whether you are an early school year prepper or someone who waits as long as you can, this resource will get you the information and dates you need as the start of the new school year approaches.
Back to School Headquarters
Follow the link for our district’s Back to School Headquarters for dates, supply lists and other important information as you prepare for the 2024-25 school year.
Enrollment
If you have any questions about enrollment or know someone that is new to Fairbanks, please share the enrollment web page with them. It contains steps and contact information needed for enrollment.
Registration Forms
Parents are required to fill out registration forms for each student at the start of every school year. To access online forms, log into PowerSchool, select Forms then Registration. Start with the top form (2. Demographics Contacts and Custody). Verify and update information as needed. As you Submit each form you will be directed to the next one. Please complete and submit forms until they are ALL completed. This process must be completed for all current and new students attending Fairbanks in the 24-25 school year.
If you have any questions regarding PowerSchool logins, please email the Administrative Office.
Cell Phone Policy
In the spring, the State of Ohio passed legislation restricting cell phone use by students during the school day. All school districts must have a policy adopted by the summer of 2025. While we have not adopted a new policy yet, there will be changes heading into the school year. Please look for building specific communications over the next few weeks.
To construct the long-term policy, we will work with our parent council, student leadership groups, and staff to design something that works for Fairbanks. Your partnership and support is greatly appreciated.

Food Services Changes
Our food services team is excited to see our students back over the coming weeks. The food service department’s primary goal is to provide students with healthy and nutritious meals providing them with the fuel to be ready to learn. Please look at the information below for the 2024-2025 school year.
If your student has qualified for the Free/Reduced Lunch Program in the past, or your situation has changed and you believe you may now qualify, you are highly encouraged to complete the Free/Reduced Lunch application at the beginning of the school year and return it to the building office. This is not a mandatory form for everyone. The 2024-2025 application will be available in July. The Free/Reduced Lunch program provides many supportive benefits beyond free or reduced meals, including reducing school fees and assisting with college application fees.
The prices for breakfasts and lunches for the 2024-2025 school year are as follows:
Breakfast, all buildings $2.00
Elementary School $3.00
Middle School $3.25
High School $3.25
Milk $0.65
Additionally, we will welcome new faces in the Food Services department next school year. Please look for announcements welcoming new staff when we return to school. We will also be piloting new, kid-friendly recipes and are excited to hear what our students’ think.
Transportation Routes
The transportation department doesn’t stop when school ends. As with other departments, our Transportation Department uses the summer months to plan for the coming year. We will be making minor adjustments to create efficiencies in our routes. If your student is impacted by these changes, you will receive individual communication within the first week of August.
Parents of newly enrolled and kindergarten students can expect communication from your student’s bus driver in early August. New students in grades 1 - 12 will receive communication between August 8th-12th and students in preschool and kindergarten will receive communications the week of August 14th - 18th. If your student rode the bus last year and there are no changes you will not receive communication.
Home addresses will be used for bus assignments. If your resident student goes to an in-home childcare provider within the Fairbanks district and is requiring transportation to the child care provider's home, please contact the Transportation Department directly. Accommodations will be considered on a first come, first serve basis depending on available seats on the requested bus.
Please note that we are not able to provide transportation on a bus other than your student’s assigned bus except in cases of emergency.
Feel free to contact Transportation Coordinator, Beth Wyckoff, thru email, bwyckoff@fairbankspanthers.org or phone, 937-349-9000, ext 1230 if you have any questions. Mrs. Wyckoff will also be available at the FES back to school event on August 12th.
We appreciate your attention to these items heading into the school year. We will post this on our website and send additional reminders closer to the start of the school year. If you have questions, please reach out to our district or building offices. Have a great day!!
