SCHOOL NAVIGATOR (SCHOOL BASE COUNSELOR)

School Based Counselor Job Description:

With the increase in Behavioral Health supports in the schools, Maryhaven is partnering with Fairbanks schools to hire a Counselor to focus on school supports and counseling for these students. Under the direction of Site manager, the Counselor will complete multiple screening tools to assess for most appropriate level of care; identify any barriers for the student and families attending ongoing counseling, provide consultation to school staff, facilitate groups and provide crisis assessment as needed.

School Based Counselor Requirements:

Master’s Degree in human service or behavioral science with one (1) year counseling experience in the field of chemical dependency and mental health treatment preferred

Bachelor’s degree in human service or behavioral science with two (2) year’s experience in the field of chemical dependency or mental health treatment required

LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, with two (2) years of paid full time experience in the field of chemical dependency or mental health treatment, or equivalent required

General Education Aide

Fairbanks Local School District is seeking applications for two General Education Aides in the Middle and High Schools for the 2022-2023. Aides will be scheduled for 29 hours per week. Applicants need to have a current FBI/BCI background check and a current Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education. ESEA endorsement preferred. PAWS ASSISTANT TEAM LEADER

HOURS: 2:30PM – 5:30PM MONDAY-FRIDAY

Fairbanks Paws is an after school program for Fairbanks students enrolled in Kindergarten through 12 years of age.

Job Description:

  • Make a difference every day!!

  • Prepare afternoon snacks & assist with cleanup.

  • Assist students’ with homework & study skills.

  • Encourage creativity & help students to discover new things.

  • Supervise the classroom when the Lead Teacher is out of the room, helping students to solve problems independently, and teaching them the importance of being respectful to themselves and to others.

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing the daily program.

  • Help maintain a clean, orderly classroom.

Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, you must meet all state licensing requirements including:

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • High School Diploma

  • Enjoy working with children
