Graduation Ceremony Moved to High School Gymnasium

Fairbanks Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2026
Saturday, May 23, 2026
10:00 am
Fairbanks High School Gymnasium
Tickets Required for Entry
Doors Open to Ticket Holders at 9:00 am

Dear Fairbanks Community,

Due to inclement weather, field conditions, and the need to protect audio visual equipment, the Fairbanks graduation ceremony will be moved indoors to the high school gymnasium. The ceremony will begin as scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

At the graduation rehearsal last week, seniors received seven tickets for guests. No additional tickets will be available. Ticket takers will be stationed at all three gym entrances, and admission will be limited to individuals presenting a valid ticket. In order to ensure that the guests selected by our graduates have seating in the limited gym space, this requirement will be strictly enforced. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Guests who leave and reenter the gym should retain their ticket stub for reentry.

Guests may enter through Door F (Athletic Entrance) or Door A (Main High School Entrance). High school doors will open at 8:45 a.m., and gym doors will open at 9:00 a.m. ADA accessible parking spots are reserved in front of the main high school entrance (Door A).

Graduates should report to the media center at 8:30 a.m. Students will receive information regarding ceremony adjustments and will have an opportunity to take a cap-and-gown photo.

For your convenience, a map showing general seating, band seating, Board of Education seating, and wheelchair-accessible seating is available here: [Gym Layout].

While we are disappointed that weather conditions prevent us from holding the ceremony outdoors with unlimited attendance for family and friends, we are pleased to provide a Live Stream Link so additional guests may celebrate from home.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to provide a safe and memorable celebration for our graduates.

Sincerely,

Jerry Obney, High School Principal
Janel Chapman, Superintendent
